GCSE Results 2020

At Ribston Hall, this year’s cohort have been justly rewarded just for their hard work and efforts. We are incredibly proud of their diligence and application on their GCSE courses and their achievement of 60% Grade 9 - 7s is thoroughly deserved.

The difficulties of the year have been manifold but throughout the crisis the Ribston Hall High Students have shown the qualities of stoicism, diligence and maturity that are the hallmarks of our pupils. Our objective and robust calculation of attainment has ensured that the skills and abilities of the students have been recognised.

We have implemented positive and powerful changes to the Teaching and Learning focus at Ribston. All students have a sequenced curriculum that stretches and challenges them as they move though Year 7 to Year 11. The robust and objective results reflect these rigorous and evidence-based strategies that have strengthened Ribston Hall’s position amongst the Gloucestershire Grammar Schools.

Our thriving Sixth Form welcomes Year 11s onto our varied and broad range of A Level courses and we look forward to empowering our young people to discover their potential at Key Stage 5.

Evelyn de Gruyther, achieving seven 9s and two 8s, has chosen to stay at Ribston Hall to complete her Advanced Levels. She commented, ‘I love being part of the Ribston community and cannot wait to join the Sixth Form and start my A Levels.’

Achieving seven 9s, one 8 and one 7, Laiba Malik is also continuing her studies at Ribston Hall High School and reflected that, ‘Ribston is an amazing school with great teachers. They have always been supportive.’

Another Year 11 student, Millie Mason, who has achieved one 9, three 8s, five 7s, and one 6, stated that, ‘The support and guidance throughout the five years has been outstanding.’

Head of Year 11, Leticia Erro commented, ‘I am so proud of Year 11 and all they have achieved. They are an outstanding year group who have faced such uncertainty during an extraordinary time. They have all demonstrated that they are resilient and hardworking learners who I know have very bright futures ahead of them. I wish them every success for their next steps.’
