At Ribston we recognise the importance of CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance). Our Careers Lead is Mr Barnard, and we employ an experienced Careers Adviser, Ms Haines who provides one-to-one sessions for students and supports delivery of PSHE.
The document below outlines our intended careers provision. This can change throughout the year as opportunities become available, and we respond to changes in the labour market, particularly in light of Covid-19.
We enjoy welcoming speakers into school, particularly former students, to give industry insights and specific advice to interested students. Opportunities for virtual/real work experience, talks and apprenticeship vacancies are regularly signposted to students through the student briefing email and via Ms Haines' Wakelet page. Her Wakelet collections contain lots of useful information and links on popular career areas, e.g. medicine, veterinary science, law, forensic science and languages. There is also a comprehensive section on apprenticeships (with information about higher/degree level apprenticeships) that parents and carers may find useful.
