RHA Newsletter April 2019

Welcome

Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter! We hope to send out an issue each term to keep you up to date with the projects we have planned and remind you on the easy methods of how you can support the RHA and the school.

Who are we?

Well, the RHA constitution says we are here to:

         i.            Develop more extended relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school

ii.            Engage in activities which support the school and advance the education of the pupils attending it

iii.            Provide and assist in the provision of facilities for education at the school not normally provided by the department of Education & Employment

In other words, we like organising events to raise essential funds for the school so they can make purchases that benefit the students. And have fun whilst doing it!

How YOU can Help

Easyfundraising  - every time you make a purchase from one of the 1000’s retailers, a percentage goes towards our cause.  Sign up at www.easyfundraising.org.uk to register.  Click on ‘Support a good cause’ and search for Ribston Hall Association.

100/100 Club – from as little as £1.00 a month you can enter our own ‘lottery’.  A chance to win cash through our regular draws with prizes from £10 up to £200!  Request details to join via the school or email the RHA.

Donate - set up a standing order for a regular donation or just a one-off. Contact the RHA for details on how to do this

The FOCUS for our current fundraising in 2019

RHHS  ‘Wellbeing Hub’

The ‘Wellbeing Hub’ is a new and exciting project to produce a pastoral space within the school that is specifically designed for the students to visit. We all know the pressures our children are under and this facility will provide a calm, relaxing and secure environment for them.

The RHA has already pledged £6000 towards the renovations and the work has started.  Much more is needed though to complete the vision that the school has for their Wellbeing Hub.  Your support for the RHA will help the school to ensure they can provide this space soon.

QUIZ NIGHT with a CASH PRIZE!

Save the date in your diary – Friday 17th May 2019. 6.30pm – 9.30pm!

Re-arranged from March,  we hope this new date will be better suited to a wider audience.  We need as many teams as possible as the more of you that take part, the BIGGER the CASH prize!

We’ve decided to take the quiz up a ‘notch’ this year.  How are your  ‘clay modelling skills’?  Do you remember how to make a paper aeroplane? Are you as dexterous as you are cerebral?   This year the quiz is not just about how brainy you are but also how ‘quick to think’ you are!  Will you accept the challenge and join us?

£5.00 per person.  Minimum 2 people, maximum 6 people per team.  The price includes snacks on the table and free soft drinks for the designated driver and under 16’s.  Extra food platters (meat or cheese) are available at £2.50 per head.  Licensed bar – beer, cider and wine available.

YOu can pay for your team and pre-order the platters via Parentpay.  All profits raised go towards our funds for the school and the essential ‘Wellbeing Hub’.

Dates for Diary:

Thursday 25th April, 6pm – RHA meeting at Ribston Hall High School – Library

Friday 17th May, 6.30pm – QUIZ – Ribston Hall High School – Main Hall

Your INPUT

Every now and then it is important to ask the parents (and students) what they think the RHA could offer as we try to raise funds for the school.  With that in mind, please can you complete the survey and let us have your thoughts and ideas!  Thank you.
