Ribston HallHigh School

Our School

Message from the Headteacher

I am very proud to have been Head of Ribston Hall High School for almost twenty years. Ribston Hall is a selective Grammar School for Girls with a co-educational Sixth Form. The school is situated on the Stroud Road in Gloucester, about two miles south west of the city centre. We have approximately 850 students on roll.

At Ribston  everyone is encouraged to get involved in the life of the school, to do their best and to enjoy themselves. We have strong traditions and are forward looking aiming to equip all of our students for a life in a demanding and fast-changing world. We have a dedicated, hard-working, experienced staff who ensure that all of our students get the best possible results in their Public Examinations. The constant monitoring of the personal development and well-being of our students is the key to our success.

We offer a broad range of subjects at both GCSE and Advanced Level enabling all of our students to personalise their learning and achieve good results so that they are equipped to embark on a university career or in employment.

There is a friendly, purposeful and caring environment and students have a positive attitude towards their learning. Beyond the classroom there are lots of opportunities for students to take part in different activites including choirs, orchestras and music tours; team and individual sports including traditional school games and equestrian activities; educational visits in this country and abroad; and to achieve nationally recognised awards such as The Duke of Edinburgh Award.

In the words of the students,

'Ribston is fun'!

Please take the opportunity to visit Ribston for yourself and experience the positive learning atmosphere.
