My name is Robert Goodwin and I am the Assistant Headteacher in charge of the Sixth Form at Ribston Hall.
Prior to taking up this position, I was in charge of two highly successful Sixth Forms in Surrey. My background in Psychology has always guided my interventions in the Sixth Form and my particular expertise and interest is in helping to develop metacognitive skills in students which promote independent learning, reflection and resilience.
This is certainly a very exciting time to join our Sixth Form with record numbers of students securing places at Russell Group and top twenty Universities and more than 10% of our students applying for early entry courses including Oxbridge this year.
My vision for the young adults in our Sixth Form is simple; I want them to feel challenged, supported and empowered to achieve. I want our students to widen their horizons, deepen their understanding and create lasting friendships and memories.
We work together to enable our students both to achieve academic excellence and fulfil their personal potential. We set challenging targets and work with our students to develop secure knowledge which they can apply confidently and independently. High academic achievement is obviously important to us, but so is the development of each young person as a tolerant and compassionate member of society.
Small class sizes, highly motivated specialist teachers and a caring, forward thinking and supportive environment will provide you with all you need to achieve your goals.
Please visit us at our Open Event this year which will provide you with the perfect opportunity to see what Ribston Hall Sixth Form has to offer and to decide if you can contribute to our community.
