    Maximising Your Potential in Sixth Form

    Sixth Form at Ribston is an exciting opportunity to deepen your academic interests and pursue your ambitions. Students who demonstrate genuine curiosity and engage beyond the specification – through wider reading, research, and exploration – consistently achieve the highest outcomes at A-Level.

    Top universities and employers are looking for motivated, intellectually curious individuals who show a clear passion for their subjects. Developing your super-curricular profile—engaging with material beyond the classroom such as books, lectures, podcasts, and wider research – will help you stand out as a thoughtful and committed applicant.

    We encourage every student to take ownership of their learning journey, building the independence and resilience needed for future success. Revisiting and consolidating your GCSE knowledge will provide a strong foundation as you transition into the greater academic challenge of A-Level study. Our Study Skills section will support you in developing effective habits to help you thrive.

    To support your start, you are expected to complete the Subject Induction Preparation Tasks over the summer. These are designed to bridge the gap between GCSE and A-Level and give you confidence as you begin your courses. You will also find optional enrichment materials – including wider reading, films, podcasts, and links to exam boards and specifications – to further inspire your learning.
