    Biometric Scanners

We are introducing biometric scanners for use at canteen tills and on school printers to streamline processes, reduce the reliance on physical fobs, and improve overall efficiency across the school.

The biometric system uses a secure thumbprint template that captures specific characteristics—not a full fingerprint. This means the data cannot be used outside the system and is not personally identifiable.

    Key Information:

    • Thumb template scans will be arranged for all students.

    • Existing students may continue using their current fobs during the transition period.

    • New students can either provide consent to use biometrics or will be issued a secure PIN code.

    • Printing and canteen payments will be accessible via biometric scan, login credentials, or fob/PIN code depending on the student’s setup.

Parental consent is required for the storage and use of student biometric data. Consent can be provided through the Arbor app, under the Parental Consents section.

For more details, please refer to our Biometric Data Protection Policy

    Free School Meals

Students currently entitled to free school meals can purchase food at breakfast, breaktime or lunchtime depending on their preference.  The allowance for food for the full day is £3. Parents will need to top up via Arbor if students go over the £3.00 allowance.  Funds do not roll over if the allowance is not used on the day.

Please visit the Gloucestershire County Council Website to apply for school meals.
Your child might be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

    • Income Support
    • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
    • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
    • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
    • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
    • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
    • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
    • Universal Credit -  your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

    School House System

All students will be assigned to a house either Britons (Red), Celts (Purple), Danes (Green), Romans (Blue) or Saxons (Yellow). If there is a family reason to join a house we will always accommodate this. During the year there are various house competitions, including house rounders, quizzes and a talent contest, culminating in sports day, and the awarding of the house cup on the final day of term. The house system is a great way to cultivate friendly competition in school.

    Fundraising Information

Schools continue to face financial challenges and the pressures on school funding are unremitting. Like all schools, and particularly in Gloucestershire savings must continue to be made in order to balance the budget each year.

A small monthly donation or a one-off payment really can make all the difference!
