Welcome from the Headteacher
Following the retirement of Sandy Woodcock after 17 years of outstanding service to the school, there is now an opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking individual to join the Senior Leadership Team of this warm and friendly school.
Our school, which is situated in the heart of Gloucester, is a selective school for girls with a mixed Sixth Form. Our vision for the school is to empower our students to discover their own potential, regardless of what that might be. We want our students to have an educational experience that enables them to take risks, try new things, develop their personalities and most importantly, enjoy their school experience.
The school has a strong ethos and tradition and we recognise the importance of innovative practice to ensure we provide an outstanding education for our students. We achieve this by offering a broad and balanced curriculum ensuring both facilitating and non-facilitating subjects are valued, appreciating every student as an individual whose educational pathways are unique, and by providing unrivalled pastoral care. We benefit from a dedicated and experienced staff, supportive parents and a committed Governing Body to ensure that this is delivered to our students.
I have recently come into post as Headteacher and so you would be joining us at a crucial time in the school’s development, a time where we will continue to build on our successes whilst looking to the future to develop ourselves even further. The financial climate in schools today is challenging and we are looking to appoint a Finance and Operations Manager who will lead us confidently through this difficult period and ensure we remain financially sound. We are expanding in Year 7 this September to 150 students, an increase that will need careful consideration and future planning as our numbers increase year on year.
If you are interested in the fulfilment and job satisfaction that comes from having a direct impact on the lives of young people, then please do apply. You are also welcome to visit us for an informal conversation. I very much look forward to hearing from you.
Mrs Sarah Colombini
