Mrs Amanda Chong, Head of Ribston Hall High School has announced her plans to retire in April next year after 35 years at Ribston, 20 of those as Headteacher. Mrs Chong said this is one of the hardest decisions she has had to make in her time at the school, in her letter to parents and students she wrote: ‘Ribston Hall is a very special organisation and I have been privileged to have been part of it for most of my teaching career. I was very honoured to be appointed Headteacher in April 1998 and I know that my supportive leadership has helped hundreds of students and colleagues fulfil their potential.’
The Chair of Governors, Mrs Lynda Frall, said Mrs Chong has given excellent service to the school over many years and in her time as Headteacher successfully guided the school through many challenges. She will be difficult to replace and the Governors, Staff and Students are very thankful for her dedication and commitment to Ribston. We are now beginning the search for her successor who will need to provide leadership for the challenges ahead whilst maintaining the strengths, values and traditions of the school.
