My name is Sarah Colombini and I am very privileged to be the Headteacher at Ribston Hall High School.
Educationally, I am committed to the selective system and single sex education and worked for 16 years in Devon at Torquay Girls’ Grammar School.
I am a Medical Biologist and began my career teaching Science and Biology, specialising in A level courses. Due to my background I am particularly enthusiastic about encouraging young women into STEM subjects, as sadly the gender gap in these areas is still significant and needs to be addressed; something I feel very strongly about.
I have vast experience in a variety of roles within the school setting including leading on Teaching & Learning, pastoral care, safeguarding and the Sixth form, all of which I have enjoyed hugely.
I am dedicated to my role in developing bright young women, my passion and ethos throughout my career has been to empower young women to discover their potential and enable them to achieve their aspirations.
It is an exciting time to be part of our school community and I look forward to sharing the Ribston journey with both the staff and students.

I was appointed as an Assistant Headteacher at Ribston Hall in September 2020. The focus of my role is the strategic development of teaching and learning. I am passionate and committed to ensuring that all students receive high quality educational experiences within the classroom.
Having been a Middle Leader at Ribston Hall since 2011, I have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of our school context. Driven by research based evidence in teaching and learning, it is exciting to be working in a learning culture that is underpinned by cognitive science.
