Meet the Leadership team

Mr Robert Goodwin, Head of Sixth Form, and Mrs Cat Nicklin, Deputy Head of Sixth Form

"The last two years of your seven-year journey at secondary school have the potential to be the most exciting, stimulating, rewarding and significant phase of your school career. The right educational experience at this stage will offer you a powerful passport to the future.

At Ribston Hall, we place you at the centre of everything we do. Our outstanding academic offer is supplemented by tailored enrichment courses, including our Critical Thinking programme and Extended Project Qualification.

We challenge students to ensure they become confident, reflective learners. We encourage, value and celebrate original and creative independent thinking.

Our collective high ambitions and expectations result in outstanding outcomes for students, with many going on to study at top universities and to join advanced level apprenticeships.

Our approach widens perspectives and deepens understanding while students create friendships and memories that last a lifetime. Success will require huge commitment to your studies and to excellence. But we will be there to guide you at every step of the way to enable you to achieve your very best.

Our aim is that you should find your experience in the Sixth Form stimulating, challenging and enjoyable. In partnership with your teachers, you will emerge not just with a first rate set of academic results, but also skills which will set you up for life.

Academically. Socially. Emotionally. Be the best you."

Robert Goodwin, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form

"As well as supporting you in achieving academic excellence, we have an important role in your holistic development as a young adult, so that you are equipped to enter the world of university and work.

We encourage our Sixth Form students to play a full part in the Ribston community and we are proud of the fantastic enrichment programme we offer to facilitate this. Whatever you envisage studying, you will be able to choose to enrich this with an excellent range of super and extra-curricular activities.

Our focus is on individuality. You will be encouraged and supported to stand out in your own positive way. Sixth Form students are role models for lower school students and are invited to become trained peer mentors. You are also invited to join our school council, using your voice to improve our community and speak out on important issues that help to make positive change for you and your peers.

As a Sixth Form student at Ribston Hall, we will encourage and support you to be your authentic self."

Cat Nicklin, Deputy Head of Sixth Form
