Sharing Ambition
Welcome to
Here at Ribston Hall High School we’re a community. A community of creative thinkers, top performers and future leaders. Of happy, ambitious people.
When students are happy they naturally grow their interests and pursue their passions. At Ribston they can throw themselves into a range of opportunities to learn and try new things, including subjects that may not be available at many other schools. We believe in fostering each student's individuality by providing an enriching learning experience, where all subjects are valued.

Joining Ribston in Year 7 was a great experience. I felt welcomed straight away thanks to the summer school and induction days, which helped me make friends and feel more confident before lessons even began. The teachers are kind and always take time to explain things to you if you need help, so you really feel you’re encouraged in all your subjects. The school is also really inclusive - everyone’s encouraged to be themselves, and we have lots of clubs to choose from across things like music, sports, and drama. I would definitely recommend coming to Ribston - it has so many opportunities and really helps you be the best you can be.
Cerys Gould, Year 8
Ribston offers fantastic leadership and career development opportunities. Since joining as Curriculum Lead for Modern Foreign Languages, I’ve been supported with coaching from the Assistant Head and given the chance to lead a working party of 13 staff, developing a leadership framework for the whole school. I’m also taking part in the Grammar School Association’s Preparation for Senior Leadership course, which is helping me progress towards my goal of a senior leadership role. Most importantly, the students are a joy to teach: they’re articulate, confident, and happy, which makes it very easy to be a teacher at Ribston.
Elishma Lawless, Curriculum Lead for MFL
I thoroughly enjoyed my experiences at school. Both the academic and creative sides of me were nurtured at Ribston, which ultimately led me to my career choice as a barrister. I was heavily involved in music, and Ribston gave me opportunities to lead, to take part in public speaking, and organise charity events - all of which built my confidence and my drive to help others. The teachers really cared about our development as individuals and encouraged us to be independent, so I’m grateful to them. The ethos of the school is to create well-rounded individuals, and my time there was fundamental to the person I went on to become.
