At Ribston, we ensure that students from disadvantaged backgrounds are offered additional support so that they can reach their full potential. If your child is eligible for Free School Meals or has been eligible for Free School Meals within the last six years, they are eligible for Pupil Premium funding.

Pupil Premium funding is available to:

• Families on a low income who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals; and 
• Children who have been looked after continuously for more than 6 months.

The support that we offer for Pupil Premium students includes:

• Providing high quality teaching and learning for all students that also focusses on closing the attainment gap for disadvantaged students
• Developing our teaching and assessment strategies to support disadvantaged students in our school
• Providing free school meals for eligible students
• Free 11+ familiarisation materials and KS2 support via the Atom Learning platform
• Free textbooks and revision guides
• Support with school trips and visits, such as residentials and academic day trips
• Uniform vouchers to cover the cost of a blazer, school shirts and a school skirt or trousers*

*In addition to uniform vouchers, we have a pre-loved uniform shop that all families can access.

Please note: Pupil Premium funding is available for students in Years 7–11. Sixth Form students are able to apply for Free School Meals and the 16 -19 bursary. 

The Service Pupil Premium was introduced by the Department of Education (DfE) in recognition of the specific challenges children from service families face. The funding is for children of service families in Years 7 - 11.
